What is Coronary Calcium Scoring Screening?

Coronary Calcium Scoring Screening or EBCT (Electron Beam Computerized Tomography) is a test that can detect coronary heart disease in its earliest stages in the arteries of the heart. These arteries (vessels) supply oxygen-containing blood to the heart wall. Calcium scoring measures the amount of calcium deposits (hardened plaque) that narrows these vessels.

You or your physician may call PMRID to schedule your calcium scoring screening. Information will be taken by our staff during the scheduling of your test. You may take all your medications as usual Please inform your physician and your technologist if:
a) you are or may be pregnant
b) you are undergoing radiation therapy
