Coronary Calcium Scoring Screening

You will be able to continue your normal daily activities. A radiologist will analyze the images for the presence of calcium.
a) Absence of calcium is considered a "negative" examination; however this does not mean that you may not have soft plaque (atherosclerosis) that may not be visible.
b) If calcium is present, the computer will calculate a calcium score that estimates the extent of coronary artery disease or CAD,
based on the amount of calcium and your age.

Calcium Score Presence of Plaque
0 No evidence of plaque
1-10 Minimal coronary artery plaque
11-100 Mild coronary artery plaque
101-400 Moderate coronary artery plaque
Over 400 Extensive coronary artery plaque
