Coronary Calcium Scoring Screening

CT scanners use x-rays. For your safety, the amount of radiation is kept at a minimum. The technologist will place small sticky electrode patches on your chest. This will enable your heart's electrical activity to be monitored during the test.

The scanner is donut shaped. You will feel the table move during the scan. The calcium scoring screening takes only a few minutes, but can provide you and your physician with important information about your risk for a heart attack.
