Types of Scanners

The type of scan you have may determine which scanner will be used for the procedure. Depending on the area to be scanned, history, and symptoms, you may be encouraged to have your study on a "high-field" scanner. Our highly trained schedulers will determine which scanner best provides the quality pictures needed to diagnose and treat your illness.

You can now listen to music while lying comfortably on the table. You can choose from our variety of CDs or bring a tape or CD of your own. There is also two-way communication between the patient and technologist throughout the scan over the same headset that the patient hears the music.

SIGNA® OPENSPEED™ 0.7T OPEN MRI SYSTEM

The Signa® OpenSpeed™ MRI system from GE Medical Systems is the leading high-field open MR system in the world. It combines superb clinical capabilities and scanning speed – on the order of 3x faster than most other systems in its class – with a spacious environment that accommodates larger patients and reduces anxiety

Most open MRI scanners require longer scan times and lack the ability to perform certain applications due to a weaker magnet. The Signa OpenSpeed system is the first open scanner to provide high-field imaging power in a patient-friendly design. It performs both routine and advanced studies, while decreasing procedure time by 30-50 percent compared with lower field open systems.
